In this week’s blog post I wanted to give you a little insight into SnapStation, and myself. So, join me and lets peer behind the booth!
Firstly, let's get the formal introductions out of the way. My name is Dane, and I am the owner, creator and friendly booth operator at SnapStation. I have always had a passion for photography, technology and making things. I just needed an outlet for this! The chance came when I proposed to my wife Becca, and we started to plan our wedding. We both agreed that we wanted our wedding to be both unique to us, and well-designed.
Fuelled by inspiration from an unhealthy obsession with Pinterest (I recommend Pinterest to anyone getting married, it's oh so useful!), we started to plan and create many of the different aspects of our day.
The problem was we couldn’t find a photo booth that met our needs. We wanted it personalised to us, and we wanted it to have a unique design. After discussing several options, we decided to create our own booth with a little help from the family carpenter. Our wedding day went without a hitch, and our family and friends loved the photo booth! Shortly after the wedding, and when circumstances presented themselves to enable me to make this idea into a business, I jumped at it. This was the start of SnapStation.
With SnapStation I decided to go back to the drawing board and designed a beautiful ‘open air’ photo booth built from the highest quality materials. I wanted to ensure it could be personalised and offer many different options to make the experience unique. The result was the lovingly crafted Vintage Retro Booth. Over the next few months with support, advice and inspiration from my wife Becca the rest of SnapStation came together, from designing the eye-catching photo strip templates to choosing the magnificent backdrops. While I focus on the technical side of the booths, Becca helps with the creative side - from painting our wooden sign props to keeping an eye on the latest wedding trends to update our range of booth options. She is also currently working on a very exciting DIY project - more details of that to come very soon!
By no means is that end. It is just the beginning! We have many ideas in the making, to allow further personalisation options, and different designs.
We will be attending a number of local wedding fairs in 2017. Come and say hello - we'd love to hear all about your wedding plans! Like us on Facebook to keep up-to-date with when and where we'll be exhibiting.
